TOI TALKS: A K Rd Homage
Thurs 7 Nov, 2019
Karangahape Road has been an integral part of the development and growth of Aotearoa's Urban Contemporary Art (UCA) movement. In this special edition of Toi Talks, we acknowledged the past by paying homage to the influential K Rd area through a nostalgic and inspiring talanoa/panel discussion with DLT, Elliot Francis Stewart, Erin Forsyth and Trustme, hosted by Jonny 4Higher.
The sharing of K Rd stories through the evolving lens of Urban Contemporary Artists, would hope to inspire new creatives to the K Rd area, retaining its unique culture during a time of gentrification.
AUAT also brought this talanoa back to its roots to 145 K Rd, where it was first incorporated in 2003 by one of Aotearoa's very first if not the first, dedicated UCA businesses, Disruptiv Ltd (2000-2007).
